Adaptation: Little Mermaid extracts
For Adaptation B project, i've decided to read Hans Christian Anderson's short story 'The Little Mermaid' and adapt the setting of the undersea world described in the story. They areas are the interior and exterior, surrounding area around the 'Palace of the Sea King. I wanted to adapt it into a 3D environment for most likely an animation rather than videogame. Below are some quotes which describe the seascape in the story.
also following the tutorial with Phil ive been looking at French Illustrator Edmund Dulac's artwork for potential art style.

Infographic visual research
Ive decided to go for 'How a Meteor gave us Christianity' as my inforgraphic. Below is more research into how it will look visually.
Generally in early Roman/Christian Artwork, paintings had a flat look to them.

Adaptation B Initial ideas
For the main adaptation project I read a few of Hans Christian Anderson's short stories. I thought about either adapting a video game/animated character from e.g. 'the red shoes' or 'the little mermaid', or creating an environment for video game or animation.
Below are some story titles i have considered .
The Snow Queen

The Little Mermaid
“Far out in the ocean the water is as blue as the petals of the loveliest cornflower, and as clear as the purest glass.”
" Its walls are made of coral and its high pointed windows of the clearest amber, but the roof is made of mussel shells that open and shut with the tide. This is a wonderful sight to see, for every shell holds glistening pearls, any one of which would be the pride of a queen's crown."

The Red Shoes
“Then she was terrified, and wanted to fling off the red shoes, but they clung fast; and she pulled down her stockings, but the shoes seemed to have grown to her feet. And she danced, and must dance, over fields and meadows, in rain and sunshine, by night and day”

The Little Match Girl
“She drew another match against the wall: it was again light, and in the lustre there stood the old grandmother, so bright and radiant, so mild, and with such an expression of love.”
